Wake up and get ready to Kayak by the Panama Canal!
This unique journey begins by traveling to Gamboa in the Soberania National Park. You board a fast boat and head north in the Panama Canal to Monkey Island near the middle of Gatun Lake. Along the way you will have an opportunity to see large ships as they pass through the isthmus. Wildlife is abundant and chances are great for spotting monkeys, Snail Kites and Ospreys. The lake also has a few manatees and on occasion a sighting of large crocodiles sunning themselves on banks. The safety boat, which follows you while you kayak, is equipped with the latest features and an ice chest filled with your favorite beverage.

Monday, March 26
Today is an exciting full day of adventure called the Jungle Challenge!  After Breakfast, a 10-minute dugout canoe transfer, we reach the trailhead. Here you embark on a challenging trek through dense jungle growth, along a narrow trail with many steep inclines and treacherous descents. One by one, you face the first of the falls of Iguana Creek. After rappelling the slippery, 15-meter rock face, you disengage and swim through the cool falls pool to await your fellow explorers. After this first challenge, you continue on downriver via a 40-meter scramble along the winding riverbed. You'll continue to trek through unpredictable jungle terrain until you reach the final fall. After a 3 meter roped descent, you finally return to the Chagres River, where your canoe awaits. You'll enjoy the canoe transfer back to the Emberá community of Parara Puru, where you can change clothes, warm up, relax and a quick lunch before bus transfer to Boquette.
Overnight in Boquette

Tuesday, March 27
Get ready as we make our way to Chiriqui to do our Class III & IV WWR! This river meanders along the Panamanian-Costa Rican border and is not as easy to access as the Rio Chiriqui but rafters are treated to a spectacular drive that certainly makes up for driving time. While driving higher up the mountain, you will get to take in beautiful scenes of virgin and untouched rain forest corridors and breath-taking views of the Volcan Barú and its surrounding hills.  Chiriqui Viejo river is a class III+ and IV where non-stop excitement, pristine tropical forest, and even a picturesque 30 foot waterfall are a combined treat for any rafter. Considerably narrower than its counterpart and dropping at a faster speed, the Viejo requires quick, tight maneuvering to get through the many rock gardens and enormous boulders and delivers continuous white water that contribute to its class IV ranking.
